The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Wednesday
At 12:54 a.m., an officer observed a westbound truck in the 800 block of Regent Drive run a stop sign. The truck spun out on the snowy pavement, completing a 180 turn, nearly striking several parked cars. The driver, Benjamin E. Hanley, 22, of DeKalb, was arrested and charged for driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign. Hanley was brought to the DeKalb County Jail and later released on bond.
At 2:51 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Glidden Road and Hillcrest Drive because the registered owner had a suspended drivers license. Mary D. Taylor, 21, of DeKalb was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Taylor was transported to DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office where she was held pending bond.
