Bond set for DeKalb residents charged with cocaine possession

Bond was set Friday for two DeKalb residents

charged with possession of crack cocaine.

According to court documents, Jessica Grady,

40, is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of

cannabis. Bond was set at $50,000.

NIU Police Sgt. Alan Smith confirmed that

Grady is the daughter of NIU Police Chief Donald Grady. Smith said

the NIU Police Department has no comment on Jessica Grady’s arrest

at this time.   

DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler said police

responded to the 800 block of Shipman Place Thursday evening to

serve a search warrant and found crack cocaine and cannabis inside

the residence. 18.5 grams of crack cocaine, as well as 32.85 grams

of cannabis were located, Spangler said.

Also charged is Reginald T. Turner, 38.

According to court documents, Turner is charged with possession of

a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of

cannabis with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled

substance and possession of cannabis. Turner’s bond was set at

$200,000.

Spangler said the arrests were a result of an

investigation that spanned over several weeks, during which DeKalb

Police conducted several controlled drug buys from the Turner and

Grady’s residence.

Grady’s next scheduled court date is Jan.10.

Turner’s next court date is Jan. 19.
