Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred on Dec. 21.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-car accident at 10:12 p.m on Glidden road.

The vehicle was driving north when it left the road and struck a utility pole in a ditch, according to the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The driver, Rockford resident Gregory Manring, 49, was pronounced dead on the scene by the DeKalb City Coroner.

The accident remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
