Housing and Dining survey gives students a chance to win prizes

Students still have the opportunity to win prizes by filling out a Housing and Dining survey this week.

The Housing and Dining survey gives students the option of different eating locations on campus and then asks them to rate one of those locations based on different criteria. Housing and Dining will pay close attention to the constructive comments that customers provide, which extends the value of the survey tool, said Richard Fritz, Director of Residential Dining.

According to an email sent out by Housing and Dining, written by Fritz, the survey began Nov. 7 and runs through Wednesday.

“We hope that all of our customers have the opportunity to take the survey,” Fritz said. “This will help us in many ways to serve our customers better.”

The email also listed the different prizes those who fill out the survey can win; the grand prize is $350 off the winner’s fall 2012 meal plan. First prize is worth $250 off the winner’s meal plan, while second prize and third through fifth prizes are worth $250 and $100 apiece off, respectively.

Housing and Dining will select winners randomly based on a numerical identifier that the participant receives, Fritz said. This is handled by the company hosting the survey.

“Once we get these identifiers, we will request the email address linked to the identifier,” Fritz said. “We will then contact the person in order to announce that they are a winner.”

Though students may or may not have already taken the survey, some have had concerns with the instructions.

“I thought it was confusing,” said freshman accounting major Nicole Ayres. “I was unsure if I should fill in both sections or just one.”

Students who want to take the survey can check their NIU email for an email titled “Campus Dining Feedback.”
