The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Friday
At 2:17 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle traveling slowly in the 800 block of Crane Drive with no headlights or tail lights activated. The officer performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Jasmine C. Davis, 21, of DeKalb, did not have a valid driver’s license. Davis told the officer she was practicing for her driver’s test the following day. Davis was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. She was later released on bond.
At 6:28 p.m., a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle driving on the shoulder of Route 30. The deputy performed a traffic stop and found the driver Jonathan Six, 23, of Ottawa, was driving under the influence of drugs and found cannabis and drug paraphernalia in his possession. Six was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail pending bond.
At 10:08 p.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 1100 block of Varsity Boulevard with no front license plate whose driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The officer performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Bernard Wright, 22, of Chicago, was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Wright was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station for booking.
At 10:26 p.m., DeKalb Police checked the registration of a vehicle in the 400 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. The officer found the registered owner, Jesus Delrio, 61, of DeKalb, did not have a valid driver’s license. The officer performed a traffic stop and found Delrio was driving the vehicle. Delrio was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.
At 11:56 p.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies observed a speeding vehicle on Route 23. Upon investigation, the driver, Matthew E. Napier, 21, of DeKalb, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to DeKalb County Jail and later released on bond.
Saturday
At 12:45 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle drive through an intersection in the 1100 block of West Hillcrest Drive and turn into the 7-Eleven. The officer spoke with the driver and observed a strong odor of burnt cannabis. The officer also found a bag of cannabis inside the vehicle. The driver, David W. Adams, 19, of Park City, was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station for booking.
At 1 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police stopped a vehicle on Route 38 for failure to yield. The driver, Jeremy N. Jackson, 20, of DeKalb, as well as passengers Emmanual Simmons, 20, of DeKalb, and Joshua Simmons, 19, of Chicago, were arrested and charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol.
At 1:48 a.m., DeKalb Police officers investigating a fighting call at Starbusters were approached by the driver of the StarBus to report a customer being disrespectful and refusing to sit in a seat. The bus driver told officers he stopped and exited the bus in the 1000 block of Arcadia Drive in an attempt to get the man off of the bus. The driver stated the man, Kent Martin, 25, of South Elgin, exited the bus and spat in his face. The driver said Martin also threatened to shoot him at a later time, then forced his way back onto the bus by pulling the doors open. The driver said he drove the bus back to Starbusters for assistance. Officers spoke with Martin and placed him under arrest. Martin was charged with assault, battery and trespass to motor vehicle.
At 3:34 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police responded to a report of two intoxicated juveniles. The juveniles were taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital. Police located the party the juveniles had attended in the 1300 block of North Annie Glidden Road and arrested Tyler Isham, 19, of DeKalb, for the unlawful possession and consumption of alcohol, as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
At 4:29 a.m., DeKalb Police received a report of a man passed out in a vehicle in the 900 block of Kimberly Drive. The caller told police he was walking home when he observed a vehicle with loud music playing and the driver asleep behind the wheel. The caller said he yelled at the driver, who did not wake up. Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle parked at a 30 degree angle in front of a house on Kimberly Drive. The officers woke up the driver, Matthew E. Zuber, 23, of Addison, who was found to be highly intoxicated. Zuber was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station for booking.
At 3:52 p.m., a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy checked the registration of a vehicle on Peace Road and found the driver, Gustavo Z. Gonzalez, 44, of DeKalb, was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Gonzalez was also found to have a valid failure to appear warrant for theft. Gonzalez was arrested and transported to DeKalb County Jail pending bond.
At 7:57 p.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police stopped a vehicle on Peace Road for a traffic violation. A passenger in the vehicle, Anthony J. Nading, 21, of DeKalb, was found to have a valid failure to appear warrant for driving with a suspended driver’s license. Nading was arrested and transported to DeKalb County Jail.
Sunday
At 3:13 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Glidden Road. The driver, David A. Troha, 27, of Crystal Lake, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
