A man accused of stabbing someone with a sword Saturday night faces a $50,000 bond after an arraignment hearing Monday.
According to court documents, Kyle P. Keegan, 29, of DeKalb, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery.
Keegan said someone was shooting paintballs or BBs at him around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, according to court documents. Keegan said he saw three people coming toward him and said the victim ran straight into his 28-inch sword.
Keegan said “he wasn’t expecting to stab someone,” court documents stated.
According to court documents, two witnesses said they were walking home from Burritoville with the victim around 3:15 a.m. when he heard someone yelling in their direction. The witnesses said they walked toward the voice and the victim was stabbed in the stomach.
