City blotter for 10/21/11

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Wednesday
- At 6:49 p.m., DeKalb Police responded to the 1400 block of N. Fourteenth Street for a report of a loud stereo. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the tenant, Edward E. Urbano-Villaba, 27, of DeKalb. Urbano-Villaba was wanted on a warrant and was arrested. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
- At 9:26 p.m., DeKalb Police checked the registration of a vehicle in the 400 block of N. Annie Glidden Road. The officer found the registered owner had a suspended license, but the owner did not appear to be driving the vehicle. The officer observed that the vehicle had no left rear tail light or brake lights and performed a traffic stop. The officer found the registered owner was a passenger in the vehicle and the driver, Wontay A. Woodard, 34, of Chicago, was driving with a suspended license. Woodard was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.
Thursday
- At 2:22 a.m., DeKalb Police checked the registration of a vehicle in traffic in the 1000 block of N. First Street. The officer found the registered owner, Joshua D. Leppard, 22, of DeKalb, had a suspended license out of Nevada. The officer performed a traffic stop, and Leppard provided the officer with a valid Ill. driver’s license and stated he was unaware that his Nevada license was suspended. Leppard was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
