LBJ in the NFL? Why the heck not

By Tony Osborne

The haters are already speculating on whether Miami Heat star LeBron James would be a good receiver in the NFL.

The two-time NBA MVP tweeted to ESPN’s John Clayton, “When is the deadline for a team to sign a free agent?”

James, an athletic superstar, was an all-state wide receiver for St. Vincent-St. Mary’s high school in Akron, Ohio.

With a 6’8”, 250-pound behemoth of a frame at receiver, there is not a single NFL defensive back with the size or ability to combat his mammoth size, speed and 44-inch vertical leap.

The linebackers would struggle to contain James, even with their size and speed.

King James has the speed to hold his own, with a reported 4.40 forty-yard dash time.

Not to mention, who wouldn’t want him blocking for your run, screen and pitch plays?

Essentially, the only reason the doubters are doubting his abilities is because he hasn’t played in a while, and he has too much to lose.

Well, I say “Carpe Diem, LeBron.”

To all the haters, open your eyes and minds to the possibility of a new two-sport superstar.
