Campus blotter for 10/6/11

Tuesday

  • At 12:20 a.m., an officer in the Grant North service drive heard a noise that sounded like fireworks. The officer contacted a group of people who produced fireworks. Each member of the group received a verbal warning for unlawful use of fireworks. The fireworks were processed into police evidence.
  • At 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the south side of Williston Hall regarding a report of criminal trespass. Jacob K. Ensign, 18, and Owen M. Duvall, 18, of DeKalb, were arrested and charged with criminal trespass to real property.
  • At 11:42 a.m., an officer responded to the third floor of Lincoln Hall A-Wing regarding the smell of cannabis. The officer contacted the resident of the suspected room, who produced a cigar containing cannabis. The student was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct. The cannabis was destroyed.
