Gang members arrested for unlawful contact

SYCAMORE | Two Sycamore men were arrested this month for unlawful contact with a street gang member, according to a press release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
The release states Oct. 6, a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy investigating a report of a stolen bicycle in unincorporated Sycamore located Marcus E. Holtman, 18, of Sycamore, walking with Manuel Sanchez Jr., 19, of Sycamore, a fellow gang member.
The release states due to Holtman’s probation and Sanchez’s parole, the two men are not allowed to be in contact with each other.
A warrant for Sanchez’s arrest was issued Oct. 14. According to the release, Sanchez was arrested the same day. Holtman was arrested on Oct. 21 after the sheriff’s office received a tip on his location. The release states at the time of his arrest, Holtman was found to be in contact with another gang member, resulting in a second count of unlawful contact with a street gang member.
