City blotter for 10/11/11

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Friday
- At 11:42 p.m., a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle at Sycamore Road and Northgate Drive in Sycamore swerving in the lane and across the center line. The deputy performed a traffic stop, during which the driver, David A. Roser, 53, of Genoa, admitted to drinking. Roser was arrested and transported to DeKalb County Jail.
Saturday
- At 2:43 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s police working at Kishwaukee Hospital were called to assist with a combative patient. The deputy observed the patient, Anthony Salinas, 53, of DeKalb, shove a nurse. While the deputy was attempting to restrain Salinas, Salinas shoved and struck the deputy. He was restrained with the use of a taser. Salinas was arrested and transported to DeKalb County Jail once medical treatment was completed.
- At 11:52 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Grove Street and Fourth Street. The driver, Guadalupe Marroquin, 40, of Cortland, was found to be driving with a suspended license. Marroquin was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail.
- At 7:36 p.m., a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Airport Road and Lincoln Highway for improper lane usage. The deputy found the driver, Israel Zarate, 19, of DeKalb, did not have a valid driver’s license. The passenger, Crisoforo Romero-Zarate, 31, of Cortland, was wanted on four failure to appear traffic warrants. Both men were arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail.
Sunday
- At 1:46 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle with no rear registration light in the 1300 block of N. Annie Glidden Road. The officer performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Quentin A. Smith, 20, of DeKalb, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Smith was arrested for zero tolerance. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
- At 2:55 a.m., a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on Bethany Road for improper lane usage. The deputy found the driver, Chelsea Simkins, 21, of Knoxville, was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail.
