City Blotter for 9/19/11

The following was taken from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb county court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday

At 2:23 a.m., a DeKalb Police officer observed a vehicle with its high beams on in the 700 block of N. Annie Glidden Road. The vehicle did not dim its lights as it passed the officer, who performed a traffic stop. The driver, Meta Tangs, 21 of DeKalb, was found to have a revoked driver’s license, and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Tangs was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.

At 2:51 p.m., DeKalb Police responded to the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive for a warrant arrest. Officers located the individual, Denise Bradshaw, 27, of DeKalb. Bradshaw was arrested on a Failure to Appear warrant for a traffic offense. She was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later transported to DeKalb County Jail.

At 10:30 p.m., DeKalb Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of N. Eleventh Street for a warrant arrest. Officers located the individual, Matthew D. Brown, 27, of DeKalb, in his backyard. Brown was arrested on a Failure to Appear warrant for possession of cannabis. Brown was taken to the DeKalb Police station and later released on bond.

Saturday

At 12:45 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle turn from Russell Road on to Crane Drive. As it turned, the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane. The officer performed a traffic stop. The driver, Aaron C. Davis, 20, of DeKalb, provided the officer with a valid Mississippi driver’s license, but was found to have a suspended Illinois instructor’s permit. Davis was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.

At 7:33 p.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 900 block of W. Hillcrest Drive traveling without tail lights. The officer performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Octavia L. Williams, 22, of Maple Park, was driving with a suspended license. Williams was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. She was later released on bond.
