The following was taken from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb county court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Friday
At 9:13 p.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle without working tail lights in the 700 block of W. Lincoln Highway. The officer performed a traffic stop and learned the driver, Sean M. Farlee, 33, of DeKalb, was driving with a suspended license. Farlee was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station and was later released on bond.
Saturday
At 3:04 a.m., DeKalb Police observed five people standing near a vehicle in the 900 block of Pappas Drive. When passing the people, the officer noticed the odor of burnt cannabis. Upon contact, the officer learned one person, Curtis L. Smith, 22, of University Park, had an active failure to appear warrant. Smith was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later transported to DeKalb County Jail.
At 4:31 a.m., a DeKalb Police squad car was nearly struck by a vehicle changing lanes in the 300 block of W. Lincoln Highway. The officer performed a traffic stop and learned the driver, Roberto G. Jiminez Gonzales, 20, of DeKalb, was driving with a suspended license. Gonzales was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later transported to DeKalb County Jail.
At 10:33 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a vehicle without working brake lights in the 300 block of Pine Street. The officer performed a traffic stop and learned the driver, Noelia Acosta-Luna, 35, of DeKalb, did not have a valid driver’s license. Acosta-Luna was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. She was later released on bond.
At 9:54 p.m., DeKalb Police heard loud music emitting from a vehicle in the 800 block of S. Annie Glidden Road. The officer performed a traffic stop and learned the driver, Eddy Alvarado, 19, of DeKalb, was driving with a suspended license. Alvarado was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later released on bond.
