Women’s soccer set to play ISU

The NIU women’s soccer team will hit the road this weekend, although the destination is in-state.

The Huskies (0-3) are slated for a match-up against Illinois State (1-2).

The Redbirds are coming off of a loss against Boston University and are 1-1 at home.

NIU is trying to draw some motivation from their last game against North Dakota University where they had multiple golden scoring chances but failed to convert.

“I think if we come out and play how we did [against North Dakota], we can build some confidence up and hopefully get the results the way we want them,” said Kelsey Passaglia, Huskies senior forward/midfielder.

The Huskies are still searching for their first win of the season, but they’re not panicking yet.

“I think every game is a must-win,” said NIU head coach Carrie Barker. “There are only 20 games in the season and the season is extremely short; so to me, every game is a must-win,”

After coming home and taking a day off Saturday, the Huskies will return to action at home on Sunday against Northern Iowa (2-2).

The game against the Redbirds will kick-off at 4:00 P.M., while the game at home against the Panthers will start at 1:00 P.M.
