NIU transfer student dies

Veronica Brown Radovic, 22, died unexpectedly on June 4 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb. Receiving her associate degree and transferring from Kishwaukee Community College, Radovic continued her studies at NIU in 2010. She was working towards a dual major in accounting and business. Radovic was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, the Honors Program for accounting and was recently named to the NIU Dean’s List for achieving a 4.0 GPA. She was born Dec. 16, 1988 in Rome, Italy, to Carla Brown. Survivors include her son, Simone, 4. Funeral mass was held on Thursday, June 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sycamore.

Counseling services will be offered at Campus Life Building Room 200 for anyone at NIU who need support in dealing with the loss. Summer hours are available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and walk-in hours are from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
