DeKALB | The DeKalb County Health Department has streamlined its online resources with the launch of its new website, www.dekalbcountyhealthdepartment.com.

The new website, launched April 8, provides easy links to various programs the health department offers on the front page such as health education, home care, communicable disease prevention and environmental health and animal control.

“We were trying to organize all the info so that it would be more user-friendly to the public,” said Jane Lux, assistant administrator for the DeKalb County Health Department. “We wanted to make our site easy to access.”

The health department has also added new links to features and resources regarding each program. Lux said the links are to program resources the health department commonly gives to people.

Trittenhaus Designs, 111 W. Elm St, in Sycamore, designed the health department’s new website.

Wendy Tritt, owner of Trittenhaus Designs, has a bachelor of fine arts and a master of fine arts degree from NIU. Tritt said the company’s main goal was to keep things as clear and concise as possible when revamping the health department’s website.

Lux said the DeKalb County Information Management Office highly recommended Trittenhaus Designs.

“We are pleased with their work,” Lux said.

Tritt said the health department was very easy to work with and was pleased with the experience.

“When you take on a job that size, it is sometimes hard to keep the gears oiled,” Tritt said. “They were pleasant to deal with.”
