Chicago Bears unveils new license plate

By Northern Star staff

According to a press release from the Secretary of State, the Chicago Bears unveiled their new permanent Illinois license plate Monday during a press conference at the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph St. in Chicago.

The licence plate is navy blue and features the Bear’s logo.

The release states a public act enacted in 2002 allows for Illinois sports teams to have license plates designed as Professional Sports Teams license plates. The Bears are the third to take advantage of the law.

Beginning Monday, the public can preorder the Bears licence plate at www.cyberdriveillinois.com. The cost is $69 for a random numbered plate for a currently titled vehicle with valid Illinois registration. Costs vary for vanity and personalized license plates.

Walk away purchase of random numbered license plates will be available at Soldier Field, 1410 Museum Campus Drive in Chicago, for the Chicago Bears Draft Party on April 29 and the Bears Expo on April 30. The Secretary of State’s mobile unit will also be at the events for registration of personalized and vanity license plates.
