Mark Todd has been named the new treasurer for DeKalb County, according to a DeKalb County press release.

Todd replaces Christine Johnson, who replaced Brad Burzynski as state Senator for the 35th District.

Todd was appointed Wednesday at the county board meeting, according to the release.

“Mark will be a tremendous asset to our county,” said Larry Anderson, chairman for the DeKalb County Board, in the release. “His years of experience in the financial sector, as well as the breadth of his community involvement made him the best choice for the people of DeKalb County.”

Todd was inaugurated Thursday at the DeKalb County Courthouse, according to the release. Todd will not take office until Feb. 28.

Before being appointed as county treasurer, Todd previously worked as vice president for Waterman State Bank, 248 W. Lincoln Highway.

He has also worked as vice president for Farmers and Traders State Bank, 10001 Route 30 in Waterman, and as an adviser for Resource Bank, according to the release.
