1 – DeKalb Police received a call at 7:22 a.m. Sunday of a domestic dispute on the 1500 block of Elmwood Avenue. Police met with the parties involved and conducted an investigation. Police arrested Nicole M. Floyd, 22, of DeKalb, on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court.
2 – While on patrol, police saw a vehicle without its headlights on at 1:10 a.m. Sunday on the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway. Police stopped the vehicle and found that the driver, Eric M. Diffay, 20, of Sycamore, was slurring his speech. Diffay failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, unlawful consumption of alcohol, obstructing a peace officer, driving without headlights on and driving without insurance. Police also found that the three passengers in the vehicle were also intoxicated and underage. Police arrested Johnathan B. Efstathiou, 18, of DeKalb, and the two other minors with unlawful consumption of alcohol.
3 – Police received a 911 call that was hung up from an apartment on the 200 block of Augusta Avenue. at 2:28 a.m. Sunday. Police found two subjects in the apartment arguing and discovered there had been an altercation. The victim said the suspect, Harry T. Lewis, 53, of DeKalb, ripped the phone cord during the 911 call. Police arrested Lewis for criminal damage to property and interfering with a report of domestic violence.
4 – A victim came to the DeKalb Police Department with a suspect in her vehicle at 9:57 p.m. Saturday. The victim told police that she had been at a party with the suspect, and that they had an argument while in the vehicle afterward. The victim said the suspect had threatened her life, and that while she exited the vehicle at the police department, the suspect threw a beer bottle at her. Police found that she had an order of protection and that the suspect, Calvin W. Brown, 48, of Aurora, was in violation of it. Police arrested Brown for violating an order of protection and for assault.
5 – While on patrol on South Pearl Street, police saw a vehicle exceeding the speed limit. Police stopped the vehicle on the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway. The driver, Tyne R. Makarrall, 23, of Malta, failed field sobriety tests and was found to be in possession of brass knuckles and a butterfly knife. Police arrested Makarrall for DUI, driving without insurance and unlawful use of weapons. Police released Makarrall on bond.
