DeKalb business robberies may be linked

DeKalb Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a store in downtown DeKalb.
DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler said three suspects entered the store at 318 E. Lincoln Highway at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
One suspect was reported to be armed with a handgun, Spangler said.
The suspects were described as Hispanic males dressed in dark clothing.
Spangler said the armed suspect was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood covering most of his face.
The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money and store property, Spangler said.
A similar robbery occurred on Dec. 18, which police believe might be linked to Tuesday night’s robbery.
The robbery occurred just a few blocks away at LA Guadalupana Money Transfr, 151 S. Third St., in which three Hispanic males were reported to have had held the owner up at gunpoint.
Two of the suspects were wearing black and blue hoodies, while another was described as bald and wearing sunglasses, Spangler said.
Spangler said the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A surveillance camera at La Guadalupana captured an image showing the owner of the store and the backs of the suspects.
