Campus crime blotter for 11/18/10

Nov. 10

  • At 8:14 a.m., a report of burglary to a motor vehicle was received. A vehicle left in Lot PS was accidentally left unlocked since 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 8:14 a.m. on Nov. 10 and had numerous items taken from it. This case is pending investigation.

Monday

  • At 7:23 p.m., a report was received for harassment by telephone. The offender was contacted and agreed to stop the unwanted messages. This case is cleared for refusal to cooperate.

Tuesday

  • At 8:37 a.m., a report was received on the theft of a cell phone at Reavis Hall. With no further information, this case is administratively closed.
  • At 9:26 a.m., officers did a check on the license from the driver of a disabled vehicle near Carroll Avenue and found an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. A consent search of the vehicle revealed two pipe-like smoking devices with suspect cannabis residue. In addition to the warrant, Nicholas Dimitt, 25, of Rockford, Ill. was arrested for possession of drug equipment and transported to DeKalb County Jail.
  • At 5:28 p.m., a report was received of criminal damage to property. Key marks were observed on a vehicle parked in Lot C near DuSable Hall. With no further information, this case is administratively closed.
