A Waukegan man, charged with firing several shots into the air in the 800 block of Regent Drive on Saturday morning, has been released on $5,000 bond.

Deandre L. Watkins, 25, is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm.

DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler said no one was injured in the incident. Spangler said Watkins had been at a party in an apartment on Regent Drive and had a disagreement with a group of people. It was around 12:40 a.m. Saturday when Watkins allegedly fired shots into the air, Spangler said.

Spangler said the gun was recovered in an apartment close to where the incident occurred. Watkins’ next court date is scheduled for Oct. 27 at 8:45 a.m.
