DeKalb Police are trying to determine whether gunshots were fired or fireworks were going off Saturday night in the 1200 block of Blackhawk Drive near the former location of Tequila Roadhouse.

While investigating a fight at 11:58 p.m., a DeKalb Police officer heard what seemed like two gunshots being fired, according to the DeKalb Police blotter.

DeKalb Police Lt. Gary Spangler said what the officer heard could not be confirmed.

“We were not able to determine if it was gunshots fired or fireworks,” Spangler said.

There were no arrests made and no injuries reported.

Reports of a nightclub-like party going on in the former location of Tequila Roadhouse were unconfirmed Monday.

DeKalb Police Lt. Carl Leoni said that there is no liquor license issued to that location.

“I’m not really sure what they have going on in there, but it’s something we need to get straightened out this week,” Leoni said.
