Campus blotter for 10/22/10

SATURDAY
At about 6:59 p.m., there was a reported battery near Grant North. A subject lying on the ground stated he was attacked by five offenders, all of whom had cleared the scene. The subject refused treatment and was only able to give a vague description of the attackers. With no further information, this case is administratively closed.
SUNDAY
At about 7:08 p.m., a report was received in reference to the odor of cannabis from one of the rooms at Neptune North. After pinpointing the room, knocking, and allowed voluntary entry, the resident revealed and admitted ownership of a grinder, smoking pipe, and baggie of marijuana. He was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis 30 GM and under and other cannabis control offenses.
At about 8:43 p.m., a subject was trying to determine who damaged her shoes when Kiki Jones, 19, of Chicago accosted her, throwing a table against her. Jones was arrested for battery.
At about 9:54 p.m., a subject violating a banning order to drop someone off at Stevenson North received a verbal warning for criminal trespass to land.
MONDAY
At about 1:04 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Gabel Hall on a report of criminal damage to state supported property. A cigarette urn had been tipped over with the top portion shattered and pieces broken off. With no suspects or leads, this case is administratively closed.
At about 7:20 p.m., a burglary from a motor vehicle in Lot P was reported that took place on Oct. 18 between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. when the owner returned to the vehicle. During this time, the windows were left rolled down and the owner’s jeans and money clip were taken. This case is pending investigation.
At about 11:55 a.m., officers responded to a call in reference to the odor of burnt cannabis from a room at Lincoln Hall. After allowed voluntary entry to the room, officers questioned the occupants who revealed cannabis residue. A consent search revealed no further contraband. All three parties involved received referrals to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis 30 grams and under.
