Jesse White brings DMV to campus

Secretary of State Jesse White will open an on-campus office Monday, Sept. 20.

Students, faculty, staff and local residents will be able to renew their driver’s license or state ID and purchase vehicle license plate stickers, as well as register to be an organ and tissue donor.

NIU collegiate license plates will be available for purchase. $25 of the cost of the plate will go towards the NIU scholarship fund. The cost to switch a random numbered license plate to an NIU plate costs $69.

“NIU students, faculty and staff can show their pride in their university by displaying the NIU collegiate license plate on their vehicle,” White said in a press release. “I am proud that this is the sixth year of our partnership between the Secretary of State’s Office and NIU. This is a great example of how my office can work with public and private institutions to make these transactions more convenient.”

Corrections, replacements and renewals of licenses and state IDs will be available in the lower level of the Holmes Student Center from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
