Men’s golf

Earlier this week, the NIU men’s golf team broke the seal on its 2010 season as it grabbed a 12th place finish at the Marshall Invitational. The Huskies were led by Bryce Emory, who enjoyed a career best performance in the final round with a score of 69. Over the course of the round, the sophomore improved from 69th place overall to a tie for 48th.

Women’s tennis

Last weekend, the NIU women’s tennis team took to the courts for the first time this season, as the Huskies hosted the NIU Invitational in Aurora. Top performers included Sara McLaughlin who took home the consolation championship in her singles flight and advanced to the championship round in doubles with partner Katie Friedlund.

Cross country

At the third annual Huskie Open, the NIU cross country team raced to a third place finish. Sophomore Courtney Oldenburg continued her strong start to the 2010 season, finishing first among NIU runners and fourth overall with a time of 18:54.71. Nationally ranked Wisconsin took home first place, netting eight runners in the top ten of the open.
