Sunday

• At 12:30 a.m., an officer on patrol in Central Park smelled a strong odor of cannabis. He observed two females nearby. One dropped something when she saw him. Contact with them revealed that they were smoking cannabis. Both were referred to the NIU Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of cannabis under 30 grams.

• At 12:45 a.m., an officer on patrol near 1050 W. Hillcrest Drive observed an individual pour a liquid that appeared to be beer onto grass. The individual admitted to being under the age of 21 and to having an alcoholic beverage in the container. He was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 1:46 a.m., an officer on patrol near the 1000 block of Aspen Court observed two individuals walking down the street with open plastic containers in their hands. Both admitted that they were under the age of 21 and that the containers had alcoholic beverages in them.

They were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

• At 11:00 a.m., an officer responded to Lot W regarding a criminal damage to property. Upon arrival, he met with a complainant who showed him where someone damaged his motorcycle. The damaged is alleged to have occurred between 8:00 p.m. on September 18 and 2:22 a.m. on September 19. Due to no leads and no suspects, this case is administratively closed.

• At 9:06 p.m., officers responded to Founders Memorial Library in regards to a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, they met with complainants who stated that they were concerned and threatened by the actions of a suspicious person who had yelled at, cursed at, and threatened people.

Contact with the suspicious person confirmed the behavior. He was arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of hypodermic syringe or needles, and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

Monday

• At 11:21 p.m., an officer responded to Neptune Central regarding a stolen credit card report. Complainant advised that on Sept. 19 she lost her debit card and someone made purchases with it without her permission. This case is pending investigation.
