City blotter for 08/30/10

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from the DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

At 8:15 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police located Ryan S. Davis, 20, of DeKalb, in the 800 block of Hillcrest Drive. Davis was wanted on a failure to appear warrant. Davis was arrested for FTA warrant – driving while license suspended, transported to the police department and released on bond.

At 8:38 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police responded to a dispute in the 900 block of Ridge Drive. While investigating, police found Ivory Turney, 19, of DeKalb, to be wanted on a FTA warrant. Turney was arrested for FTA – consumption, transported to the police department and released on bond.

At 3:38 p.m. Wednesday, DeKalb Police stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of North Peace Road for a traffic violation. After searching the vehicle police found drug paraphernalia. The driver, Xena A. Lovings, 19, of DeKalb, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later released on bond.

At 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, DeKalb Police stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of West Lincoln Highway after the officer observed the driver not wearing a seat belt. Police learned the driver, Mitchell J. Trevino, 22, of DeKalb, had a suspended license. Trevino was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seat belt. He was later released on bond.

At 10 p.m. Wednesday, DeKalb Police were called to the 300 block of Settler Drive for a suspicious vehicle. Police learned the driver, Luis A. Mejia, 25, of DeKalb, did not have a valid driver’s license. Mejia was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license. He was later released on an individual bond.
