Eugene Smith

Education: He is a junior political science major at NIU.

Experience: Smith previously campaigned for U.S. House Representative Bill Foster (D-IL). He’s a recent DK-08 committee member.

What will you bring to the city if elected?: He said he brings more accessibility to the community which he finds has been a problem for the last eight years. He would cut spending to help out the budget. Smith also wants to get more students involved with city government. He feels the communication gap between NIU students and DeKalb residents needs to change. He is currently working with Re:New DeKalb on improving the city.
