Thousands of girls have been anticipating “Hannah Montana” on the big screen for years to finally have the question answered; Would Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) continue to portray a pop star living two different lives?

“Hannah Montana: The Movie” opened up with laughter as Miley’s father, played by real life dad Billy Ray Cyrus, tricks the pop star into going back to her hometown. As she steps back in Crowley Corners, her Tennessee birthplace, her father quickly reminds her that she needs to remember where she comes from before she can get to where she wants to go.

Vanessa Williams stars alongside the Disney star as a super-diva agent that will stop at nothing to bring Miley fame and happiness. Unlike most of her roles as a villain, Williams portrays an agent who truly cares for the well-being of her client, as she tries to do all she can to protect Miley’s secret double life.

With two extraordinary songs, “Butterfly Fly Away” and “The Climb” Cyrus reminds the audience what growing up is really like and how important it is to hold onto the beauty of your memories and dreams.

“Butterfly Fly Away” is a beautiful tune that proves Hannah Montana is more than just a pop star and can be taken seriously as a musician. The sounds of this song are mature and relatable to people of all ages.

To enhance the more mature edge of the film, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift appear in the film as Crowley Corners residents who are passionate about their hometown. Instead of playing the sensational music artists they are, both Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift play regular musicians who show Hannah that singing is not for the fame but for enjoyment.

Although this film is geared more toward the adoring teen fans, it’s a film the whole family can enjoy. The only negative to the film was the confusing ending. When Hannah has to decide whether or not to reveal her secret to a large crowd of townspeople, she stuns audiences by removing her wig.

What happens in the end leaves audiences slightly confused, but that could have been the intention. After all, being a teenager is a confusing time.

Whatever world Miley chooses to live in, there is no doubt her latest film proves she is a well-rounded individual, blessed by outstanding amounts of talent.
