The NIU Public Relations Student Society Association will host a Rock 4 Life concert to benefit NIU’s “Forward Together Forward” Scholarship fund.

The concert will be held from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on April 18 at Molly’s Eatery and Drinkery, 1022 W. Lincoln Highway. The entire bar will be dedicated to the event. Whiskey and a Gun, 80’s Proof and Train Company will be performing.

Presale tickets are $8. Tickets will be $10 at the door. PRSSA President Michele Westergaard said anyone can e-mail her at [email protected] to reserve a ticket for the $8 price.

Westergaard said this is a good opportunity for students to show their support for NIU.

“Not only is it going to be fun to go, but you will be supporting NIU,” Westergaard said. “The money is going toward the scholarship that represents the students who were lost on Feb. 14.”

In 2008, Rock 4 Life raised about $3,000 for various local charities. Westergaard said $1,500 of that money went to the NIU Memorial Garden.

Free food will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. Kegs will be available all night. Raffle tickets for prizes will also be sold.
