I Need Sleep to perform at House Cafe in DeKalb Thursday night

By ANDY FOX

I Need Sleep is returning to The House Café, 263 E. Lincoln Highway, for a performance on Thursday, March 19 at 8 p.m.

With members based out of Chicago, Knoxville, Tenn. and DeKalb, the faintly insane eight-piece group specializes in a sort of lecherous, carnival pop — think Man Man and maybe a little Talking Heads — utilizing drums, strings, accordions, pots & pans, and what have you to produce nightmarish yet jaunty and upbeat stompers guaranteed to keep the party bumping. Little can be discerned about the group’s origins from its MySpace page although they all seem to be well-dressed gentlemen with impeccable haircuts. Rounding out the bill are supporting acts Bogotá Orkestar, Zirra and the Saps.

Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door or at www.ticketweb.com.
