‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ provides insight into dating realm

By JEN HANCE

Nine of Hollywood’s biggest stars have come together to create the ensemble cast of “He’s Just Not That Into You,” the screen adaptation of Greg Behrendt’s popular book that bluntly explains the psychology of dating to girls.

The movie acts as a wake-up call for girls who can’t see some of the obvious issues in their relationships. The film’s story revolves around different characters in different relationship-related problems who are all connected one way or another.

Whether your man is sleeping with someone else, doesn’t like you, won’t propose, or isn’t calling, “He’s Just Not That Into You” gives the girls in the audience a harsh dose of reality that their girlfriends are too nice to say.

While the ideas and concepts in the film will mostly come as common sense, they are common issues everyone has had.

Watching the different situations play out can be like déjà vu from your past dating experiences.

With so many big names on one ticket, the acting is extremely convincing, but some of the chemistry just isn’t there. While Ginnifer Goodwin has great chemistry with Justin Long, the sparks between Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Connelly were non-existant.

Elsewhere Kevin Connolly doesn’t seem to have much chemistry with anyone aside from his “Entourage” co-star Adrian Grenier, let alone Scarlett Johansson.

The love between Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck seemed completely genuine as well, and you can hear the girls in the audience fall back in love with Affleck like they did in the days of “Armageddon” and “Dogma.”

While there is plenty of humor and a fast-moving storyline, ladies, there isn’t enough testosterone or scenes of Johansson for your boyfriend to be “just that into” this movie; however, it’s still a worthwhile movie to see.
