Mariah Carey’s latest collection captures all of her best

Combining the artistry of R&B’s powerhouses on one album, Mariah Carey’s new album “The Ballads” combines the singer’s classic #1 hits along with lesser known songs. With vocal stylings from Usher, Boyz II Men, and Luther Vandross, this album is packed with musical intensity.

“The Prince of Egypt,” which featured one of 1998’s most popular ballads “When You Believe,” also a duet with Whitney Houston, allows the singers to emotionally belt out incredible tones. This anthology of Carey’s ballads would have been incomplete without this tune.

No junior high dance went without playing “One Sweet Day” featuring the smooth Boyz II Men. Several young hearts in the 90s fell in love with each other as this tune elevated Carey and Boyz to uncontainable popularity.

While the children were sharing their first dances, couples were sharing their first wedding day dance to “Endless Love,” featuring Luther Vandross. The sweet voice of Carey, along with the sensual voice of Vandross, makes for the perfect love song and is worth including on the album due to its familiarity.

“The Ballads” includes 18 amazing tracks that show the reason Carey became such a music icon, and why, to this day, musicians still strive for her vocal uniqueness and fame.

Carey’s latest collection is a must-have for anyone who idolizes pure musical talent.
