Do you remember Bill?

In part of the NIU School of Music’s Guest Artist Series, Swedish jazz pianist and composer Stefan Karlsson and his Jazz Trio will perform at the Recital Hall Wednesday night.

The concert, “I Remember Bill,” is a tribute to Bill Evans, an influential jazz pianist and composer who modernized the typical jazz trio in the ’60s.

Performing with NIU faculty members Kelly Sill and Rodrigo Villanueva, Karlsson has recorded over 50 jazz albums. Karlsson also is an associate professor of Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas and a current member of Eddie Gomez’s jazz trio and quartet.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. and is free.
