Award-winning Avalon String Quartet to perform at Boutell Memorial Concert Hall Thursday night

The Avalon String Quartet continues its playing season when it performs at Boutell Memorial Concert Hall on Thursday night at 8 p.m.

The quartet will be playing a collection of works including Beethoven’s “String Quartet In G Major, op. 18 No. 2,” Charles Ives’ “String Quartet No. 1” and Leos Janacek’s “String Quartet No. 2.”

Since being founded in 1995, The Avalon String Quartet, which includes three violinists and a cellist, teach applied lessons and coach chamber music.

Since winning Grand Prize at the 1998 Fischoff Competition, the quartet has performed at major venues such as Carnegie-Weill Recital Hall in New York City, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris and the Music Alp Festival in Seoul, Korea.

The concert is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
