February 12, 2009
Woah nellie! Put on your chaps and hold onto your reigns as the world famous Lipizzaner Stallions make their way to The Convocation Center tonight at 7:30 p.m.
As a part of their 39th anniversary tour, the stallions will present DeKalb with the show, “Dancing White Stallions.” This form of equestrian art contains new music, choreography and emulates the style from the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria, according to a news release.
Twelve to 14 beautiful stallions will be included in the performance, combining drastically different forms of battle and ballet.
Also included in the show is a performance called “Air Above the Ground,” which features the stallions in a literal equine ballet as spectacular leaps are executed, according to the Lipizzaner’s official Web site.
Gold Circle seats are available for $27.50, while general admission tickets range from $14.50 to $22.50. Tickets are available at The Convocation Center box office, Ticketmaster or by calling 312-559-1212.
