Three new shows to mix up your TV viewing

By JEN HANCE

The new season premieres have come and gone, and it’s tough to find anything decent to watch on TV. Luckily, this week three new shows will premiere, which may be a good way to mix it up and get the taste of “Hole In The Wall” out of your mouth.

“Estate of Panic”

Premieres Wednesday at 9 p.m. on SciFi Channel

Every week, seven people battle it out for money in a house with a mind of its own. The money is hidden in booby-trapped rooms where the contestants’ worst fears come to life. Whether it be a room slowly filling with water, lined with thousands of bugs and spiders or caving in, the contestants will have to fight their fears to get the cash. If they panic, they’re out of luck.

The reality game show sounds like “Fear Factor” mixed with “The Haunting.” The first episode will definitely be worth watching; after all, what else are you going to watch; the third generation spin off of “Flavor of Love?

“Human Wrecking Balls”

Premieres Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. on G4

This premiere’s dripping with testosterone. Two guys, Craig and Paul Pumphrey, take turns demolishing big things with their bare hands. For the first episode, the brothers bust down a muscle car using their own muscle to see just how tough these cars are.

Instead of watching phony wrestling shows full of make-believe fights and guys on steroids wearing sparkling Spandex and Speedos, why not try watching guys with some real brawn break stuff?

“Summer Heights High”

Premiered Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on HBO

For all of “The “Office” fans out there who just aren’t getting enough, Australia just put out a new mock-umentary about three people at a high school.

While most casts surround a number of different people, this one stars Chris Lilley as three characters: Ja’mie, a snobby transfer student from an all-girls private school, Mr. G, the overly flamboyant drama teacher who made a musical about the tsunami tragedy to songs by Bananarama called “Tsunamarama,” and Jonah, a troubled teen who break-dances and rocks a Jheri curl.

Though it is on HBO, Lilley puts on a show that cannot be missed. Call up that buddy you watch “Entourage” with and tell them you’re staying late this Sunday. This show is a diamond in the rough.
