Ball State has grabbed the attention of the nation – and it was done so in style.

The Cardinals elegantly sliced through the MAC’s top defense with perfectly executed play action passes and intuitive quarterback scrambles.

But BSU’s style also extended off the field to the press box. Game Day, MAC commissioner Rick Chryst and members of the Orange and Motor City Bowls enjoyed the game from a top class press box.

Two years ago when I visited Muncie, Ind., the press box at Scheumann Stadium was nothing to brag about – and that’s putting it lightly. It was small, out-of-date and a sore spot.

But now the Cardinals have a press box, along with classy suites, that match any other program in the MAC, or even the Big Ten for that matter.

It seems like an upgrade in facilities was timed just right with the upgrade on the field for this possible BCS-Buster. Let’s hope the Orange Bowl representatives keep visiting the new press box in Muncie.
