Bored over break? Here’s what to do

By NORTHERN STAR STAFF

If you are suddenly freaking out because you have three days off from school and nothing to do, take a break from the “Designing Women” marathons and be more productive with your entertainment choices. Flavor has compiled a list of what you should be doing this Thanksgiving holiday.

SEE THIS: “Milk” (Nov. 26)

This Gus Van Sant-directed film stars Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, San Francisco’s first openly gay supervisor. Since this film’s inception, it has generated nothing but massive amounts of Oscar buzz for the entire crew. Backed by a supporting cast that includes Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch and James Franco, Penn could very well pick up his first Oscar since “Mystic River.” See “Milk” now before the buzz grows bigger.

LISTEN TO THIS: Kanye West “808’s and Heartbreaks”

The controversial rapper has done everything lately from proclaiming himself the “voice of the generation,” to comparing himself to Phil Collins. West’s fourth album will be his time to put up or shut up. West claims the album will feature little rapping and instead more singing. The recent loss of his mother will surely provide for many heartfelt tributes on the album, but will the emcee’s transformation succeed or flatline?

WATCH THIS: Rosie Live! (Wednesday’s on NBC)

There’s nothing better to prepare for Thanksgiving than by watching a real turkey in action beforehand. The comedic entity known as Rosie O’Donnell will host a live variety show with special guests Kathy Griffin, Clay Aiken and Gloria Estefan. Talk about A-list! This will be worth it for the sole fact that it will be broadcast live, and Rosie going into an ignorance-fueled political rant is not out of the question.
