Chicago favorites Local H set to rock out at Otto’s tonight
October 23, 2008
Local H and Electric Six will dominate DeKalb tonight as Otto’s Niteclub, 118 E. Lincoln Highway, will be filled with strong alternative beats and original, yet distinct, music styles.
Local H is a powerful alternative band from Chicago that energizes crowds, but stays true to its fans. Guitarist/vocalist Scott Lucas has been known to call out certain members of the crowd, while displaying his typical energetic attitude.
The band’s newest album, “12 Angry Months,” is a major focus for this tour and stop at Otto’s.
Last fall, the band played a sold out show at the same location. Odds are that due to a loyal fan base in the DeKalb area, history is bound to repeat itself.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing them again,” said senior Michael Barkdoll.
“Local H has always been a DeKalb favorite,” said Kickstand Productions Owner John Ugolini. “They always pack the place.”
Supporting the show is Electric Six, a multi-genre band hailing from Detroit. Electric Six combines the genres of punk, rock and new wave to create a unique sound to call its own. The band’s newest album, “Flashy,” was released only a few days ago.
Ugolini adds that Electric Six is “known for crazy [shows] and their cult following.”
With two bands known for putting on amazing shows that feed into their fans’ interests, this show is sure to keep attendees on their toes.
This 21-and-older show is set to begin at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door, but are also available at www.kickstandproductions.net.
