Club Detox’s liquor license was reinstated Friday morning after being seized Thursday night for a tax problem with the previous ownership, the bar said.
The club, 1000 W. Lincoln Highway, had its liquor license seized about 6:35 p.m. Thursday by DeKalb Police, according to police reports. The owner, Ransey Vazquez, was given a copy of an emergency order of closure for the bar.
The next morning, Vazquez said the license, which had been seized for a tax issue with the previous ownership, was reinstated.
“It could have been straightened out the same day, but they came to us too late,” Vazquez said.
The club continued to hold a TNA Wrestling event Thursday night after its license was pulled, but told patrons they could not serve alcohol when they entered, Vazquez said. The club remained running normal for the rest of the week after the license was reinstated, he said.
