‘My Name is Bruce’ to be released in Oct.

By ORLANDO LARA

More than a year after being finished, Bruce Campbell’s “My Name is Bruce” is finally going to be released.

But if you know who Bruce Campbell is, you probably already knew that.

For those of you unfamiliar with Bruce “The Chin” Campbell, he’s Ash from “The Evil Dead” trilogy and the ultimate B-movie actor.

The film revolves around Bruce, playing a jerkier version of himself, as he moves to a small town in Oregon. While there, the townspeople harass and mistake him for his Ash character. Bruce eventually has to fight a Chinese war god to save the town. You know, usual stuff for Campbell.

Frequent collaborator Sam Raimi, the director of “The Evil Dead” trilogy, did not have anything to do with the movie, though his brother Ted, another collaborator with Bruce, is going to be in it. The movie is supposed to be in the same vein as “The Evil Dead” movies.

Still don’t know who Bruce Campbell is?

He was the ring announcer in “Spider-Man.” He gave Spider-Man his name.

He was the snooty usher in “Spider-Man 2.”

And the maitre d’ in “Spider-Man 3.”

He’s also on the TV show “Burn Notice.” He plays the older guy with the chin in that one.

“My Name is Bruce” is scheduled to be released in late October.
