What you should be renting this week…

1. “What Happens In Vegas”

Starring: Ashton Kutcher, Cameron Diaz

This lighthearted comedy is a good date movie without all of the mush that usually comes with “chick flicks.” The supporting players help keep the laughs coming, but the plot is rather shallow, being about a couple who wake up married after a crazy night in Vegas. Don’t expect much.

2. “Redbelt”

Starring: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tim Allen

A Jiu-Jitsu instructor struggles to keep his business going while keeping his morals intact. Is Tim Allen trading in his tool belt for a “red belt?” That alone could be worth the rental.

3. “My Sassy Girl”

Starring: Elisha Cuthbert, Jesse Bradford

A remake of the 2001 Korean film of the same name, but with sexy American actors. A typical “guy-likes-girl-girl-dumps-boy,” romance story. This could be better to watch on mute.

4. “Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?”

Starring: Morgan Spurlock

After exposing the beast that is the fast food industry, Spurlock turns his sights towards the world’s most wanted man, Osama bin Laden. It should be interesting to see what the people of Afghanistan and the rest of the Middle East think about the war on terror, but it is a big step to go from chasing the friendly Ronald McDonald to the world’s most wanted terrorist.

5. Heroes: Season 2

Finally! Season 2 comes out to refresh our memories just in time for the premiere of Season 3 in September after the long delay caused by the writers strike. (Whether or not fans want to remember last season, with the never-ending and never exciting story of the “wonder twins,” Alejandro and Maya.) Luckily, there are glimpses of what Season 3 has to offer, and special features like alternate endings come in to help save the day.
