Construction work on several DeKalb roads has led to detours and tight traffic conditions throughout town. Here is a breakdown of the projects around the city, and their expected completion dates, according to Joel C. Maurer, DeKalb City Engineer.

NORMAL ROAD

Between Lucinda Avenue and Lincoln Highway

A water pipe is being laid for a chiller plant. The project is expected to be complete in mid-August.

LINCOLN HIGHWAY BRIDGE

The widening of Lincoln Highway from two- to four-lanes is expected to be complete July 1.

BETHANY ROAD

The widening of Bethany Road from two- to four-lanes is expected to be complete in early October.

FAIRVIEW DRIVE BRIDGE

Replacement of the bridge is expected to be complete in November.

MISCELLANEOUS SPOT-REPAVING

Construction crews will be repaving patches of road on Lincoln Highway, Annie Glidden Road, and Fourth Street south of Taylor Street. These projects are expected to be complete in two weeks.
