TV Talk: NBC

By JEN HANCE

With the writer’s strike finally over, NBC is airing new episodes of five of their hit shows tonight. This will hopefully give viewers their fix of TV for the week. Here is a brief preview of what to look forward to this evening:

7 p.m. – “My Name Is Earl”

In this episode, Randy tries to help Earl work on his list of good deeds by making amends with the Teutul Family (from American Chopper) after stealing a motorcycle while drinking. Earl is still in a coma, continuing his happy sitcom-like dream life with Billie (Alyssa Milano) as she gives birth to his son.

This is a much anticipated episode because it features the cast of American Chopper. Also, Alyssa Milano returns as Billie, as we see how Earl’s fantasy unfolds.

7:30 p.m. – “30 Rock”

Jack Donaghy is elated with the success of the new hit reality show “MILF Island,” but this is unfortunately interrupted when an unknown staff member rips on him in a gossip column. Worried about his chance at the chairman position, Jack tries to identify the disloyal employee.

It’s about time “30 Rock” has come back as it is arguably one of the greatest satirical comedies on television right now. The characters are just so dynamic and hilarious in their own way.

8 p.m. – “The Office”

Michael and Jan host a dinner party and game night at their house and invite some of the other office couples. In attendance are Angela and Andy, which infuriates the already jealous Dwight, who is not only upset about their relationship, but also not invited to the party. Pam and Jim also show up because they finally ran out of excuses to bail on Michael.

Rumor has it that things are going to heat up this season on “The Office,” and something big is going to happen with Jim and Pam. Are they going to finally have sex, get engaged or break up? One of these events is supposedly going to happen, but tonight’s episode will just set the stage.

8:30 p.m. – “Scrubs”

It is Turk and Carla’s anniversary, and Turk decides to surprise Carla by learning Spanish and finds there are many perks to being bilingual. A burn patient asks J.D. for permission to go to his graduation and Dr. Cox messes around with Kelso’s breakfast.

Sounds like a typical episode of the slap-stick comedy, but it could be entertaining to see what Dr. Cox has up his sleeve. It is always enjoyable to see Dr. Cox cunningly harass Kelso no matter how over-the-top the rest of the show is.

9 p.m. – “ER”

A new colleague has issues with Pratt’s treatment of the interns as Gates works on a young patient with a serious heart condition. Abby battles with the decision to come clean with her affair to Kovac as she travels to Croatia, and Sam discovers Gates and Julia broke up.

My hat is off to anyone who is still able to keep up with this show as it is currently in its 14th season, I, myself quit watching it after Dr. Green died.
