Regional Planning Commission to discuss groundwater protection plan
March 26, 2008
The DeKalb County Regional Planning Commission will meet tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss a possible referendum that will allow for a groundwater protection plan.
The referendum would raise approximately $1 million through a property tax increase of about four cents over a one- or two-year period.
“In order to develop a ground water protection plan there would have to be a study,” said DeKalb County administrator Ray Bockman.
The DeKalb County Regional Planning Commission has been overseeing a study regarding the groundwater in DeKalb County for some time now, Bockman said.
“DeKalb County Regional Planning Commission will decide whether or not to make a recommendation to the county board this Thursday,” Bockman said.
