Intoxicated Rochelle man arrested for waving gun at turkey farm
December 5, 2007
A Rochelle man was arrested Monday after waving an AK-47 rifle while intoxicated at a turkey farm.
At 12:43 p.m., Gebahet Bustamante, 45 of Rochelle was asked to leave Kauffman Turkey Farm, 8519 Leland Road in Waterman, after showing up to work intoxicated, said DeKalb County sheriff Roger Scott.
Bustamante then left and came back with an AK-47 rifle, waved the rifle around the room and dropped the gun on a table, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office press release. He then picked the gun back up and left the farm before police arrived.
Bustamante was later arrested by Rochelle Police and transported to Ogle County Jail. He is charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. He was later released after posting bond.
The rifle was not loaded when Rochelle Police arrested Bustamante, Scott said, but it is not known if the rifle was loaded when he was waving it.
