Gas station robber holds up clerk at knifepoint
November 7, 2007
A gas station was robbed at knifepoint late Monday night.
At 11:40 p.m., a man entered Road Ranger, 933 S. Fourth St., asking to buy merchandise from the clerk. When the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect attempted to grab money from the register while holding a folding knife in his hand.
The suspect fled south out of the store on Fourth Street with an undisclosed amount of money, said Lt. Gary Spangler of the DeKalb Police Department.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, about 6-foot-3 inches tall with a medium build. The suspect had a gray, bushy mustache and was wearing a tan coat, yellow gloves and a yellow hat with ear flaps.
This incident is not believed to be connected to other local robberies, Spangler said, and no similar incidents have been reported.
