Robbery attempted at Best Western

An attempted armed robbery took place Saturday evening at Best Western Inn and Suites.

At 8:10 p.m., a suspect entered the hotel, 1212 W. Lincoln Highway, and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect produced what appeared to be a handgun, but ran out of the hotel without taking anything.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants.

Lt. Gary Spangler of the DeKalb Police Department said there is no indication this robbery is related to previous robberies in the last month.
